University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE)

The University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE) – one of the youngest and largest universities in Germany – is located in the middle of the Ruhr Metropolitan Region. Since its foundation in 2003, the UDE has developed into a globally recognized research university.

The Institute for Vocational and Continuing Education is part of the faculty of education at the University of Duisburg-Essen. It deals with lifelong learning, adult education in the context of work and occupation, in the context of digital media and informal learning.

In the special area vocational education and training it is our goal to develop and implement innovative concepts for vocational training processes. Our aim is to be a source of ideas for education policy control and to provide impulses for the design of education and training.

Also, UDE has experience in the topics of CIM, as it delivers Master’s courses on innopreneurship where students learn how to implement innovative business models and become entrepreneurs. It mediates foundations of entrepreneurship and business modeling and trains the application of modern innovation methods such as design thinking.
